Our Early Childhood Education program is a great, structured way to encourage physiological, emotional, and cognitive development. Our classes are a fun, imaginative way for young children to be introduced to basic dance and tumbling vocabulary and technique. These classes will prepare young dancers and tumblers for participation in further structured classes. Classes also promote social skills, cooperative participation, and focus. These classes are great for the development of fundamental gross and fine motor skills.

Inertia’s Early Childhood Education Program is based in child psychology, developmental psychology and physical development. While the Early Childhood classes are designed to prepare students for further structured classes, students are learning so much more. Our classes enhance cognitive, emotional, social and physical development along with self control and positive self image. Even at a young age, students are learning skills that will assist in other education settings as well as in life situations.

All technique and terminology is taught through association. Technical terms are paired with imagery young students are able to relate to and understand. Students will be rewarded for listening, sharing and following directions with stickers at the end of class.

Through participation in dance and tumbling at a young age, many students will develop above average coordination, strength and balance.

Broadway Babies

Jump into the wonderful world of Broadway and Musical Theatre. This class includes Musical Theatre (singing and acting), Ballet, Jazz, Tap and a snack.

Once Upon A Dream

Come one, come all in your finest royal attire. Learn how to dress, act and dance like a princess. Learn Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Creative Movement, and Princess Etiquette. Have fun with all your favorite princesses as you learn what it’s like to be royalty.

Dancin’ Darlings and Dudes

Get ready to get funky! Dancin’ Darlings and Dudes teaches Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Tumbling.

Ninja Training Academy

Once you have joined the Ninja Training Academy, there’s no turning back. This will be a fierce class of Martial arts, Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Tumbling, and Stage Combat. Complete with agility challenges, secret spy missions, stealth basics, and tests in endurance, strength and flexibility. Those who complete the Ninja Training Academy join an elite group called the Black Dragons. Good Luck!

Dora and Diego

Hola! Dora and Diego would like to invite you on a fun adventure with all their friends. Throughout the expeditions, you will have fun dancing. play- ing games, and making crafts. Students will learn Spanish along with Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Tumbling technique while having lots of fun with creative activities.

Pre-Tumbling

Students will learn the basics of gymnastics through fun activities using different mats, the

balance beam and trampoline. This is a great class for this age group. All equipment is bright

and colorful which is great for keeping attention. We work on strength, balance, coordination,

listening skills and taking turns. Tumbling classes are offered beginning at two years old.

Tumbling activities are included in the Parent/Tot classes.

Fairy Tale Theatre & Song

This class is a great introduction to drama and voice through the world of make believe. Students

will learn through story-telling, puppets, games, props and instruments. Each class will begin

with a story and all activities for the day will relate to the story. Students will sing-along with

and act out their favorite fairy tales and Disney stories. Basic movement will be incorporated in

some scenes and songs. The focus in this class is to develop creativity, imagination and

a love for drama and song.

Early Childhood Education Schedule

Parent/Tot: Exploration Level

These classes are a great bonding experience for little dancers and parents!

This is a very unique program, allowing little ones to explore the world around

them through structured movement creative activities. Parents will assist in

exploration activities building fine and gross motor skills for each age group.

Three levels of Parent/Tot classes are offered.

Level 1: 6-12 months (not walking)

Level 2: 12-18 months (walking)

Level 3: 18-24 months

2-3.5 Year old classes: Adventure Level

Teddy Bear Ballet

This is a wonderful introductory class for students who have never been exposed to an organized classroom setting. All dancers bring their own teddy bear to class for the first half of the semester. After that, dancers transition into using Inertia’s teddy bears. Teddy Bear Ballet is a great class for students who have separation anxiety. This class includes music, rhythm, creative movement and ballet. These classes are 30 minutes in length, which is perfect for this age. We start these classes 5 minutes early with a story. This helps to get students prepared for class.

Twinkle Toes

Twinkle Toes incorporates music, rhythm, and various styles of movement and dance.

Through pretend play and creative movement, students learn basic ballet and jazz

technique. These classes are 30 minutes in length, which is perfect for this age.

We start these classes 5 minutes early with a story.

This helps to get students prepared for class.

Fantasy Classes: Introductory Level

Fantasy Combinations offered include: Fantasy Ballet/Tap and Fantasy Hip Hop/Tap. The fantasy element of this class explores the imagination and allows students to learn through association, which improves memory, learning and creativity at this age. These classes are 45 minutes in length and include a warm-up, technique in each of the styles, and a creative movement activity. We start these classes 10 minutes early with a story.

This helps to get students prepared for class. We do offer multiple level 1

Fantasy classes and one level 2 Fantasy class.

The Fantasy Ballet classes teach ballet and small amounts of jazz, along with

creative movement. The Fantasy Ballet classes are 45 minutes in length for

the 3 and 4 year olds and 60 minutes in length for the 5 year olds. We start the

45 minute classes 10 minutes early with a story.

Inertia also offers two hour long fantasy classes. These include different

combinations of ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, breakdancing, musical theatre, acting,

tumbling, and martial arts, along with a snack, and creative activities. Descriptions of each of these can be found below.

Combo Classes: Basic Level

Combination classes are offered for 5-6 year olds and 7-8 year olds. There are two

levels of combo classes offered. Hour long combos are Ballet/Jazz, Hip Hop/Tap

or Ballet/Tap. We also offer 1.5 hour long combos of Ballet/Tap/Jazz and

Hip Hop/Tap/Jazz. There is a second level of hour long combo classes offered

for those students who have already completed one year of combo classes at Inertia.

Fairy Tale Theatre & Song and Advanced Mini Ballet are also offered.
